ASICS Mini Marathoners: For the 2014 NYC Marathon we created lifelike miniature 3D statues to immortalize runners. We had runners submit photos using a web app then hired 3D artists to model and print the statues. We then photographed each statue in front of famous NYCM course backdrops and used RFID chips (in the bibs) to trigger Facebook posts as runners passed our markers in real time. We also surprised runners by featuring their statues in an animated Time Square board.
